Location: Sebastapol, CA
Beer: ACE Perry Hard Cider
Alcohol Content: 5%

What the Brewery Says: "First released in 1996, this is the first Perry cider made in California. It became very popular very quickly, as it is so refreshing. It is made from apple and pear juices. We use champagne yeast in all our ciders and ferment for 10-14 days. We then cold-filter 4 times and carbonate them before putting into bottles or kegs. The ingredients are all natural juices. It is 5% alcohol by volume with a lovely pear nose and a smooth semi-sweet mouth feel with a dry finish."

My Thoughts: First of all, I know this is not beer. So why is it part of my beer tasting series? Because my wife brought it home from the store and I value my marriage over the nitpicky details regarding my alcohol. Back off.
That being said, I have very little to say about this particular beverage. It tastes...like apple juice. Sour apple juice, specifically, with a slight hint of bitterness. There's not really much else to say. When my son drinks apple juice, he's essentially drinking the same thing, except it won't cause him to make bad decisions at a bachelorette party, or a baby shower, or wherever else people might consume several hard ciders in a row.
